First Lady Michelle Obama once said, "The arts are not just a nice thing to have or a nice thing to do if you have free time or if one can afford it. They define who we are as people and provide an account for our history." At L.H.A. we take our Drama, Speech and Debate programs very seriously! Our student actors and debaters are challenged on and off the stage to showcase maturity, boundless creativity and self-accountability. During our 2016-2017 competitive season we competed in over 20 competitions in a variety of events including, monologue, poetry, standard oratory, original oratory, dramatic interp, humorous interp, prose, dramatic duet and policy debate.
2016/2017 Season Highlights
Our audio visual courses allow students the opportunity to learn how to properly operate the various elements of sound, lights, video editing and sound editing. We take a very hands on approach as our students work in the L.H.A. recording studio and they work with professional grade camera equipment daily.
